First Launching of the UEE Temerarious

The sick bay is all a bustle as the doors open. Nurses run about checking scanners, and different equipment. The simple room still has a crisp and clean look.

Computer, make note of all living units in this area. Take down vital signs and begin recording right away.

*She looked at the nurses and walked over to a large computer screen, standing to face it. Hands moved out and pressed a few buttons as the unit hummed to life.*

This is much more like home then it has any right to be. *She said, watching the now on file vitals of every crewman and woman on the ship.

The screen flashed and distorted for a second while a face formed. It was Vi'Roth-IX.

"Excuse me, do you mind if I access the Vital Tracking Capabilities of this Sick Bay while aboard the UEE Temerarious? It would ease some of my duties."

*Startled, she jerked back, almost falling over. Her tail bristled out and she looked at the face on her screen. Her heart was racing and she approached the screen again, trying to calm herself down.*

I- uh.. Yeah. Of course.. But who are you?

*This face was one she hadn't recognized before.*

*Her comm badge beeped and the message came through. She tapped her screen and patched herself through to the bridge. She saluted the captain before speaking.*

Sir. Officer Minoko, commander of the Medical Personal. Everything is on record and working properly. I have begun pulling vitals and past medical records if available.

"I am the Chief Engineer of the UEE Temerarious, Designation: Vi'Roth-IX. Thank you for you compliance."

The screen went back to normal without another word.

Uhm.. Yeah..

*As her screen returned to normal, she blinked a few times before turning around. Her back pressed against the console, slipping her eyes shut. That was interesting, to say the least.*

The ships initial take off can be felt though sick bay and everything seems to be going smoothly until the lights die out completely. Sick Bay's secondary generators kick in and emergency lights are restored.

*She swung around as the lights went. She tapped buttons on the panel in front of herself. As the emergency lights came on, she hit her comm badge, trying to contact Vi'Roth. She paced as she waited for his response.*

Minoko to Vi'roth. Do you have any idea what just happened?

The comm systems crackled to life.

"We're experience technical malfunctions. The AI trapped itself in a feed back loop and stressed the engines. The surge following damaged multiple systems and parts of the power grid. Repairs are currently in progress, at 54.003% completion. Please remain calm."

*The comm channel crackles to life again almost with to much static to understand before coming just clear enough to understand the message. The voice comes across as the sharstrak which the medical officer should understand clearly*

""Mackinaw to Minoko: Prepare to recieve injured, slight burns from EPS overloads.""

*Replies to the comm announcement with a small nod.*

Right away. I shall have my things prepared by the time they get here.

*She canceled the communication link and turned around, pointing at a few people.*

I need you three to prepare the burn center. Start up the skin graph and bring me all the records for those coming in.

*She said this in a calm voice, but inside she was a bit excited and nervous. People bustled about, getting things ready for the patients soon to arrive.*

*She worked on the crew who received burns and also ordered her own crew about, telling them to bring her the equipment needed. Soon the crew were out of her care and she gave a sigh, watching the last patient leave. Nothing was too serious that she couldn't fix. Her tail was bristling with excitment and her purple tipped ears twitched.*

*Instructions came through and she blinked a few times before giving another sigh.*

.. Everyone.. Begin re-routing power from everything you're not using and push it towards the Med bay. We need more power than what we're getting.

*As they began re-wiring power and pushing it to where it was needed, she decided to leave her area. She moved down a darkened hallway, heading off to see if anyone else needed help.*

The time passes quickly, many repairs have been made through Vi's diligence. Main power has been restored throughout the ship, and the crew seems to be going back to a semi-"normal" routine. With Mars station approaching fast, Commander Jonathan, orders for the signaling of the approach.

A soft chime echos through sick bay over the comm speakers.

Now hear this, Now hear this: UEE Temerarious approaching Mars Station, repeat we are now approaching Mars station. Captain to the Bridge.

*her ears twitched as the power came back on full, and again as the speaker mentioned coming up on Mars. She darted back into the room and perched herself by a window, watching the stars pass by. Never before had she seen the stars so up close, and she loved it.*
